Back Home

Getting home is bittersweet.  Reuniting with your friends, your family and your things can be the sweet part.  Not being able to shake the feeling that you have somewhere to be (or that you’re now being unproductive) is the bitter side of the equation.  Over the last 2 weeks we covered over 3,800 miles.  The routing was hell, but the shows more than made up for it.  This very well may have been the best string of shows I’ve ever had the opportunity to play.  Dado, Lyle, Bryan, Dennis, Jim, Danielle, Ryan, Marisa, Ashley, and Tiffany….  I owe you a huge thank you for making it happen.  Not only did you make a positive impact on my music, but you impacted my life as well.

Today is a Ryan Adams kind of day.  Time to get things back in order…  My car looks like a messy closet, and my studio is the culmination of neglected post-show gear and suitcases.

I can’t wait to get a little bored.  I feel like the best songs always come during the transitional period between busy and bored.  In the mean time, I’ll leave you with a picture I took yesterday of the coolest milk truck around…
